Ryan Berger advises clients on alternate dispute resolution methods and seeks creative methods to resolve disputes cost effectively. Ryan represents clients in matters before all levels of court as well as numerous administrative tribunals.

Ryan is experienced in dealing with land disputes involving purchasers and sellers, developers, and neighbours. Ryan regularly represents local governments, including the City of Coquitlam, the Township of Langley, and the City of North Vancouver, in land use and bylaw related matters.

Ryan advises employers in a wide range of employment and dismissal cases, as well as harassment and human rights complaints. Ryan assists businesses with enforcement and restrictive covenants and protection of confidential information.

Ryan is the firm’s Privacy Officer and Chair of the Privacy Committee. Ryan helps public and private sector organizations develop effective and integrated privacy compliance. This includes policies and procedures, systems and security, information sharing agreements, and access issues. Ryan has also assisted various organizations respond to inquiries by the federal and British Columbia privacy commissioners..

Taryn Mackie joined Bull Housser as an articled student in April 2005 and was called to the bar in February 2006. As a Partner in the firm's Labour + Employment Group, Taryn advises clients on a variety of issues relating to labour relations, human rights, workers' compensation, wrongful dismissals, unjust dismissals, and employment standards. Taryn has experience preparing employment agreements and workplace policies, including privacy policies, Internet policies, social networking policies, harassment policies, human rights policies, and attendance policies. Taryn has appeared before the Labour Relations Board, Employment Standards Branch, Human Rights Tribunal, British Columbia Supreme Court, British Columbia Court of Appeal, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, and Workers Compensation Appeal Tribunal on a variety of matters.

Rochelle Pauls is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution +Litigation Group, practicing primarily in the area of Labour + Employment.

Rochelle assists senior lawyers and advises clients on a variety of matters relating to labour relations, human rights, workers’ compensation, wrongful dismissals, unjust dismissals, and employment standards. She also assists in the preparation of employment agreements and workplace policies. Rochelle has appeared before the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia and has assisted in preparing submissions for the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal, Federal Court of Canada, British Columbia Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada.

Moira Aikenhead Working with the Labour + Employment group, Moira assists our senior lawyers and advises clients on matters relating to employment standards, labour relations, human rights, wrongful dismissals and workers’ compensation. She also prepares various employment agreements and workplace policies.

Moira has assisted in preparing submissions for the British Columbia Human Rights tribunal and British Columbia Supreme Court.
